Camping has changed a lot over the years, parts of the industry has been hit hard by the economic times so companies and campsites have been very innovative in the products and services they offer.
Up until around the late nineties to early noughties you really only had two options with the UK tour operators, a tent or a mobile home. And at that time there were far more tents than mobile homes on campsites. Things have now changes quite considerably! First came the switch, now days you will see more mobile homes offered than tents. I guess that was really down to customer choice, mobile homes were selling out quicker than tents. The mobile homes got more and larger more luxurious as the years went on, with additions such as dishwashers, music systems and TV’s. Some might say that’s not camping but I guess people want more these days!
Now things have changed again and you can get some amazingly weird and wonderful types of accommodation. We will be going and looking at as many of these different types over the next few weeks. There are Yurts, Tree Houses, mobile homes with a bedroom upstairs and super deluxe lodges, but now we are going to take a quick look at the new Safari Tent by Eurocamp.
Based on an African safari style tent, this is a great fun alternative to the standard maxi tents on offer, and far more luxurious too. There is a 5 and a 6 birth option to choose from. They come with real beds, a fully equipped kitchen and even an electric heater. All of this is set up on top of a wooden decking where you you can sit up late on the quality wooden furniture supplied.
I for one quite like it and am looking forward to having a good poke about inside on! You can read more about it and see a nice video of the inside here. More info>>
